Will I give up ownership of my work if I publish it in Bow Valley College's institutional repository?
Answer
No, you will retain copyright of your work after it is published in the institutional repository. Publishing your work means you are making it openly available for other researchers to find and access.
To allow the Library to upload your work, you must agree to the terms outlined in a non-exclusive distribution license using the PRISM Submission & License Agreement.
A non-exclusive license means that the author/creator will keep the right to exploit their intellectual property; you will be able to agree to other licenses, including publishing agreements, which allow you to exploit the same intellectual property.
