How do I change my MFA?
Answer
In addition to your username and password, BVC requires you to type in a third piece of information to confirm your identity. This is your MFA code.
Changing your MFA - text message
If you have a new phone number or will be travelling out of country, make sure you add your new number to your authentication methods. You will need to sign in once with your old credentials before you can make any changes to your account.
- In Teams or in one of your Office apps, click on the dot with your intials or photo. In the window that appears, click on the link to "View Account".
- In the My Account window, find the box for Security Info. Click on the link to "Update Info"
- On the Security info screen, you'll see your current MFA methods. You can "Add a sign-in method" to add a new phone number to your account. Or, you can choose to set up the Authenticator App if you can't receive text messages.
- Follow the instructions to set up your new number or the Authenticator app.
Changing your MFA - Authenticator app
If you are purchasing a new phone, you need to back up your Authenticator app before you clear your old phone. Your accounts will not transfer automatically!
