How do I set up multi-factor authentication?
Answer
What is Multi-Factor Authentication
In addition to your username and password, BVC requires you to type in a third piece of information to confirm your identity. The first time you log in to your MyBVC account, you will be asked to set this up.
Many students choose to recieve their code through text messaging. But you can choose to use the Microsoft Authenticator app instead to approve login requests. The app can be a great alternative if you plan on changing your phone number or travelling overseas. It is free and available for Android and Apple phones.
How do I setup the Microsoft Authenticator App?
The Microsoft Authenticator app is a Microsoft product. It does not allow Bow Valley College any access and does not let anyone at BVC see the information on your phone. The app will only ask you to register your device with BVC to confirm that you own the device.
