How do I install Respondus LockDown Browser?

How to download Respondus Lockdown Browser:
- 
	
Go to your course and then go to the Quizzes tab to find all your exams.
 - Your instructor should have a Practice Exam set up. The name of the quiz should end with the words - "Requires Respondus Lockdown Browser".
 - Select the quiz to get started. Don't worry - you aren't starting the quiz! You are just getting everything set up.
 - At the bottom of the quiz instructions, you will see a link saying Download and install the latest version of LockDown Browser. Click on this link to get started.
 - Follow the instructions to download and install Respondus Lockdown Browser.
 
How to test your Respondus Lockdown Browser:

Follow the instructions above to install Respondus on your computer. You only have to do this ONCE.
 - Go to D2L, go to your course, and choose your practice exam
 - Click on the blue Launch LockDown Browser button. Respondus will start. You may get some pop-ups asking you to close programs like Teams or Zoom. You may also need to complete some additional steps if your instructor has requested you to use your camera/microphone for the exam.
 - When you have finished all the steps, click on the blue Begin Quiz button. Your timer does not start until you click this button.
 - Your exam will work the same as a regular D2L exam. Answer the questions and submit your exam when you are finished.
 - Close Lockdown Browser when you are finished to regain access to all your programs on your computer.
 
Important Notes:

There is a generic practice Respondus Lockdown Browser exam available in AC101: Academic Success 101
- There are different features and settings your instructor can choose to use for an exam. Whenever possible, use the practice exam available in your course to test your Respondus setup.
 
 - Bow Valley College recommends using either a Windows or Mac computer for Respondus exams.
	
- Chromebook and iPad versions are available but are not recommended and may not work for every exam.
