October is Cyber Security Awareness Month!
This year’s national theme for Cyber Security Month is “Get Cyber Safe – For Future You”. Cyber safety isn’t just for tech experts - everyone can learn some quick and easy things to do to stay safer in the future!
To help increase awareness about this important topic, the Library will be hosting Cyber Safety Week from October 27-31. Complete our online Cyber Safety Activity before October 31 and be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card!
The Library will also have a display and resources sharing more information about how to protect your devices and keep yourself safe online.
Stop by, learn something new, and help keep BVC cyber safe!

If you are doing anything online - schoolwork, shopping, banking, or connecting with friends - it's important to think about cyber safety. This means keeping you, your devices, and your information safe and protected!
Cyber safety may sound hard or complicated - but there are some easy things you can do to start being more cyber safe:
- Create a strong and unique password for EVERY account
- Use a password manager to help you remember all your unique passwords
- Use MFA or two-factor authentication whenever possible
- Regularly update your software, phone, and computer
- Think before you click - don't fall for scams and fake emails!
