How do I cite a direct quote from a source with no page number?

Answer

For a source with no page numbers (e.g., webpages and websites, some ebooks) use a paragraph number or heading.

In the case of a long heading or section name, it is ok to abbreviate the heading or section name.

     Template

(Author(s) last names, year, paragraph number(s)).

(Author(s) last names, year, “Heading”).

(Author(s) last names, year, “Heading,” paragraph number(s)).

      Example

(Hall, 2008, para. 5).

(Canadian Mental Health Association, n.d., “Fast Facts”).

(Taveras, 2004, “Conclusion,” para. 11-12).

See the APA 7 website for more information.
