Why is there a connection issue when I try to connect with LibChat?

Safari browser has certain privacy preferences that can cause connection issues. If your Safari browser is preventing cross-sit tracking, you won't be connected with the library staff member monitoring the chat.
 
Using LibChat in a Safari browser is possible if you change your privacy settings. Please note that there are benefits to keeping these privacy settings enabled, including the reduced ability of trackers to identify you device. For this reason, the Library recommends the use of Chrome or Firefox instead of Safari when using our chat service. 
 
If you would still like to use LibChat within Safari you can do so by following the steps below:
1. Click Safari at the top of your screen > Preferences > Privacy
2. Uncheck 'Prevent cross-site tracking'
