Where can I find help with basic computer skills?

Answer

If you are just starting to learn how to use a computer, the Calgary Public Library offers in-person classes for "Getting Started with Computers". For more information about their programs, and for location/registration information check out the Calgary Public Library website

If you need help with Office365, Microsoft has created step by step guides that can help you learn how to use some of their common programs - including Word and PowerPoint.

GCFGlobal has created a number of free, self-paced lessons and tutorials on computer basics. You don't need to register or sign up - just click on a course to learn more!

LinkedIn Learning also has a number of videos and courses to help you get things done on your computer.

Google has created a variety of lessons that can help you learn how to use a computer to complete basic day-to-day tasks - like creating a budget, applying for a job, or connecting with others online. These lessons use Google products (Google Pages, Google Slides) instead of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint) - but you can do similar tasks with Microsoft products.
